Associate Producer
Do you have exceptional Final Cut Pro skills and a reel to prove it?
HRTV needs a story teller, editor, sports enthusiast to assist the broadcasting team in screening and editing video content, researching, and in preparing both live and original programming for broadcast. The successful candidate will prove himself or herself to be an excellent writer with great creativity and story telling abilities, and will utilize computer and technical skills as well.
The Associate Producer provides production expertise, hands-on coordination, and support to Shift Producers, Senior Producer, Technical Directors and Talent; takes part in the creative and technical processes invloved in creating programming; is integral to delivering appropriate, effective live programming. Duties include work with computer networks, tapeless workflows, digital and linear broadcast formats, editing via Final Cut Pro, and generating and executing stories.
Requirements:
- Must hold a Bachelors Degree in Journalism, English, Communications or another closely related field, as well as at least 3 years of hands-on professional experience in live television production, sports television strongly preferred.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of journalistic practices and television broadcast procedures as well as proven experience with the following equipment:
- Strong knowledge of Final Cut.
- Expert level skills with both Mac and PC
- Solid technical skills with broadcast signal routers, DigiBeta machines and Omneon servers
- A love of sports, especially horse racing is a definite plus.
Online Content Coordinator
In a strategic effort to expand our content and tie HRTV’s programming in with the network’s broadband initiatives, HRTV is creating a new position. This person will be responsible for coordinating the use of social and new media to promote HRTV and deliver the network’s message to potential new viewers.
The Online Content Coordinator position involves:
Attracting a new audience to HRTV by marketing via new and emerging media channels and writing and posting engaging messages
Managing and coordinating online content including blogs, video, interviews, etc.
Actively developing innovative social media marketing strategies; researching and suggesting new methods and marketing tactics under strategic guidance
Maintaining active social community management; executing social media engagements for viewers and potential viewers
Developing and maintaining a content and activity calendar
Developing and maintaining analytics and measurement; tracking success of social media marketing programs
Adapting marketing strategies to reflect changes in viewer behaviors, technology, the horse racing industry and the competitive landscape
Maintaining awareness of new social media marketing techniques being used by others, as well as looking for opportunities to innovate and develop completely new techniques
Performing QC of new media content by testing the usability and functionality
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in website / new media coordination and /or web marketing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or other closely related field
- Exceptional PC and Mac skills; Basic knowledge and understanding of HTML and SEO; Experience using FTP clients for file transfers
- Proven understanding of marketing principles
- Exceptional understanding of and ability to use new internet media and all major forms of social media
- Familiarity with traditional, viral and social marketing techniques as well as other online marketing techniques, such as search engines, blog and forum postings.
- Strong ability to leverage the Internet for research and analysis
- Knowledgeable of online editing programs (Photoshop, Final Cut, etc)
- Sense of creativity, ability to adapt graphic content as needed
- Excellent verbal and written skills, organizational and customer service skills.
